i still feel that that i didnot help him but i killed him first of all if i knew more about life support i do not think i would have let his sister take him off i was with this man for just about all may life and the father of my kids he was unresponsive from the time the ambulance take him to the hospital he was only on the machine for 3 days then the docters said he was brain dead i was having faith that he would have made it he only breathed for about 4 minutes before the machine flat line about 5 minutes later it looked liked he was breathing it is so hard to forget that day i still feel that i did not do the right thing.
If your loved one would have stayed on the machine there would be nothing....only a body with a tube breathing for him. He never would have opened his eyes or had another conscious thought. He would have been deprived of the dignity of death and the Father's healing arms.
We all need to hold onto our loved ones. It is so hard to let go.
Please make an appointment with his doctor and talk to him/her about why and how your loved one died. Ask about the ventilator and about brain death. Ask how brain death is determined and why it occurs. Write down all your questions before you go so you do not forget all the things you need to know.
