why 80 mph?

My son Max died in a car accident almost 4 years ago. I went on the internet last week and googled his name and the article of the accident came up. I got to see a picture of the young lady killed along with him and the only thing that really stuck out, I MEAN REALLY STUCK OUT was the sentence that stated he was going 80 mph. WHY?

i am sorry for your loss and for the bad way that the article was written.Sometimes people are just crude and rude but I think the fact that 80 mph was not necessary.Losing a child is bad enough but the way people report it is even worse.Take care of yourself,dear and e mail when you get me.I am all ears and will be here for you.Thanks.Vader.

I'm so sorry for your loss. What's worse is that the press has put you in a time warp of shock at reading that. Keep in mind that sensationalism sells and the paper may not have all the facts.

A letter to the Editor (not a phone call but a letter to the Editor submitted for publication) by you or a family member - might help you and other families who have experienced the same. Again, I'm so sorry for your heartbreak.

I can completely relate to that. I remember when the girls were killed, that weekend there was a ration of deadly wrecks in the area, so the highway patrol wanted to make some kind of "lesson" out of it, and publish an article on it. They decided to describe IN DETAIL how each of the people died but not state their names. It was completely obviously though, b/c they said something like a mother and her infant daughter were killled this weekend , the infant died of ..... and the teen mom killed of a ripped aorta and ....
Going into all kinds of detail. I was so pissed. It is so un-nessesary to get their point across. The fact that they were not wearing seat belts was very important, and YES a lesson can be taken from that, but not in that way.
Perhaps they should reflect on the people who are now gone, b/c they didnt wear their seatbelt, whatever the circumstance.

Its hard to say why ppl speed. I know we are all guilty of it at one time or another. Maybe he was passing , and sped up. Or they were late? Often times we are late , and dont relize how fast we are driving until we look down or get pulled over.
