For me, I kept a few beloved pieces, pictures, clothing (5-6 outfits) and a cabinet that my mom personally told me was left for me. She even went as far as telling a few of her friends to make sure I don't give away the cabinet so I kept it.
The rest of her clothing (lots of nice pieces), furniture, dishes, linen etc I donated to charity and her family who lives in another country who needed the items. This is what my mother would have wanted me to do. She always gave away to those in need.
Think about what your mom would have wanted you to do. All the best with your decision.
She lived a few farms over from my Grandmother with her husband Du, and her kids, she got her start signing in the honkytonks in Lynden Washington. - just a little info - can you tell I am a fan.
