This column is for us people who are overwhelmed.Suppose your husband or spouse or other is depressed? But suppose they dont want treatment..what do you do? I will be very honest to all of you.The Mental Health System in Washington is shot.It is overwhelmed and there is now a 6 month wait.But if she/or he doesnt want treatment--what do you do? There is a wonderful new show on cable..it is called Intervention.I see it and I have used.Brad is in rehab now and he is so much.He just hated his job and I told him that sometimes in life..we dont always get the jobs that we want.He is on medical leave and I am free to do the things that I have always planned.Today I am catching up on e mails and the like.A great deal of people who are depressed..just dont believe that they are.They want to live in a glass cage and they believe it.But the people in washington including us seniors..we aint stupid.We notice and we do notice changes and such.Now if the person is a co worker and you are not related..it is up to the supervisor or person in charge to say something.If they take the advice..fine..but some dont.Remember-some people today just dont have the advantages that they there parents and grandparents had.We must learn to accept.I have accepted the fact that I will never be a CEO ande that I will never have a talk show.I will never be an executive and such because now in washington even the people with money are stingy like Scrooge.If a person is depressed and it is a teenager..then I would worry.The Columbine Teenagers showed signs--where was the help? Why are the parents being silent? Look..one of the first signs of teenage depression..is that they start black and when they start doing this..they are crying out and saying like the Columbine kids--help me! ANd I want to add something.One of the Columbine kids was killed in Irag.He just never got over that incident.But one of them who tried was killed by the police during a domestic violence call.Can we at least talk to people? Can we least reach out to our neighbors and mailman? Can we realize that life is for the living and sometimes that the pursuit of happiness can hurt!

Yes, near my city was just a shooting. A young man shot and killed several people.He was just let out of jail. His mother said that he was suffering from mental illness and she has tried over and over again to get him help. She even went as far to say that she wished he had killed himself, and not all the other people. She felt so bad because one of them killed was an officer who told her she would help him get help. He opened fire on her and others. I feel so bad for this Mom. She said the government, the hospitals, the counselors all would not listen to her when she told them how bad he was. What a shame!!!!

Thanks for your reply.But where is the help that is suppose to be there? Have you noticed that this is all you hear about now? I hope that things are well with you and I am still in shock over how the family in Sgakit Countys request to help her son were ignored.;
