It's hard to lose your relatives, friends, those you love. My Dad was the toughest to lose and this holidays I was determined that I would celebrate their lives for the holidays instead of living and drowning in the last day of their lives.
By celebrating their lives, I looked for the best times and brought those to the forefront of my present self and remembered those days, laughed about them, and was glad for those days. I know my Dad would not want me to be mourning him or not thriving, or wondering if it was worth it to go on.
Dad would want laughs and happiness and Dad and I had always talked about the past and the fun times anyway and we would laugh so hard, so it is him to be remembered by all the really great fun times.
I hope that you can take something from this. I know that when my time comes, I wouldn't want anyone to be crying about me and focusing on the fact I died. Instead i would want to be remembered for how I lived and the fun times and the hilarious times and the times when everyone just laughed so hard they couldn't breathe.
