Keep it simple! With goals I always remember - "short term - intermmediate - long term". This helped me so much when my brother died. Just getting out of bed was a "short term" goal for weeks.
But, I did it.
When my 2nd ex-husband died it was so hard. The loss of the divorce re0visted me, all we never got to do, all the difficulites we encountered, the feeling of "being robbed" a second time and all the joys we shared - a chunk of time gone. So the "goals thing" helped...I do at least one kind thing daily to 'pay it forward' in his memory. I take holiday items from the dollar store to his grave (he would have liked that I don't spend a lot of $ on the items). "Intermmediated goal" was to find more ways to have fun without spending a ton of money...my solution was using the local library,
It all still has yet to "come together" BUT I am trying to lower my expectaions and be happy with completing my daily "to do" list.
Stay well.
Me, after a nice conversation with my mom tonight, I'm going to chase my brother down the rabbit hole for awhile (spiritually anyway, in my sleep) and then I'll think of something to do tomorrow (do some video editing, bike-ride, think of what class I'd like to take over the summer, maybe screenwriting).
