Suicide is a taboo in our society.When famous people do it,thereare tribuites and such.But when a ordinardy person does it,they are greeted with distain and sometimes suspicion and not to mention they also are the victims of gossip.People stay away.Some of them give excuses.One person told me that he knew that Brad was depressed and has been depressed for one year.Then why the hell didnt this asshole contact me and tell me? I was with Brad for 12 years and he was clean and sober for 5 years.During those 5 years our relationship was one of a riot.We were always doing things and on Tuesday...Brad would send out for pizza.He would take me grocery shopping and during the course of it,buy a cooked chicken and that would be our dinner.We always took rides and we would talk.I miss this.I miss talking.Noone wants to talk today.Since half of the people here are retired they are very selfish.All they want is a good time and when I want to talk about Brads death and life...they change the subject and I am not bothering with them as of this moment.
I cannot have these feelings cooped up inside of me much longer.I want to talk.My heart aches and the pain is so great that I cant describe it.So lets stop promoting care free people and have discussions on suicide ande have people who are trained to notice the signs and help the survivors.Maybe I wont be this lonely and in spite of everything,I still
love Brad and will never love another person again.I am 64 and I am
too old for this romance bull and holding hands.I am also too old to
receive flowers and candy...I buy them myself.Brad told me that I would
have to learn to live without him and it is hard..but it is also hard for
people to understand I am in mourning and it will be 3 years and I dont want romance,dating or sex.That part of my life is over and guys
if you see me...please do not go up and hug me...I am not a doll and I am not any mans hobby.

I think there are a lot of people on DS who understand, so you came to the right place. Also I would wear my wedding ring too, it would feel naked without it. Hang in there and trust in our heavenly father and try to enjoy your life as much as you can.
I do it this way for the most part...because a lot of people who ask me...are 12 step people...or people who know me a bit....and I just let it out......except for shop keepers,etc....sometimes I just say it there too, if they 1/2 know me......some people don't want to hear it...but that is how it has worked best for me...I am not going pretend....I am barely able....so why bother....some people have come out and told me their woes straight away too, which has been very helpful....very, very helpful...but it is only because I have laid it on the line blatantly.....:( who cares, it is real life we are living here...we are educating people...
