My son was 25 when he passed away on Feb. 13 2017 at 145am. He was the most amazing son a mom could ever hope for. He died from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. My entire life was built around him and taking care of him. Now I dont know what to do with myself. How do I learn to live a life without him. I miss him so much it hurts.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I think that a real life support group for parents who have lost children might help.... Someone very close to me lost her daughter a year ago and found a lot of comfort in being with people who could understand what she was going through and she developed a couple of good friendships through this group
I'm glad your here... DS is a great site..... Another hug and a blessing....xo
You may be able to find such a group by contacting the office of the doctor(s) who treated your son. They may have such a support group in mind.
Many people who have lost a child focus on helping other parents who are in a similar situation. Perhaps by becoming part of a support group for the condition that ultimately took the life of their child, or in a group like what Sun is referring to.
You are not alone in your journey. All of us here have lost somebody, but not all of us have lost a child. Please take what ever comfort you can find from our stories and our journey and use it on yours. Parts of our journeys that do not lend comfort to you can be ignored without fear of hurting our feelings.
Gentle hugs
I know that the right counseling would help all of us.
Just being able to come on here and talk about my son really does help. Thank you so much.
Thank you for reaching out.
