I am new to this group. I lost my mother and my aunt in July in a horrific car accident. I can't move on. I see the accident in my dreams every night and cry myself to sleep almost every night. My mother was a saint, "seriously". She was the perfect mother and the perfect friend to everyone who new her, as a matter of fact the day of the accident she was taking my aunt (her sister inlaw to the doctors and to see about a car as she had an accident the week before. That was my mom at 86 always doing for others. I get so angry because my aunt has a daughter who could have taken her to do these things but she new my mom would do it. My mom loved helping others and always saw the good in everyone even those who didn't deserve it. I feel like I didn't get closure, didn't get to say goodbye and I love youmom I know she knows I love her but I needed to tell her that I loved her and tell her what an amazing, beautiful person she was. Every morning when I wake up, I think how will I get through this day without her. I have a family but I feel like I'm lost without her. To make matters worse, my husbands mom, who lived with us and I thought would be there for me died 3 weeks afte my mom, so needless to say I don't dump my feelings on my husband. Everyone tries to say they understand how I feel but they can't. My sister went to therapy and said it helped but I don't see it, she is always crying. This may sound crazy but staying depressed and sad makes me feel like I want to stay this way, most times I dont want the pain to go away, it makes me feel closer to her. I'm afraid that if the day comes when the pain lessens my memories will dim and I don't want that.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I have lost my folks and I know how very much we miss them.... This would have been such a shock
A real life support group might be a big help for you to work through your grief....
One of the stages of grief is anger.... If you believe this has triggered a depression as grief can I would make an appt to see your doctor
Some trauma therapy might also help your family to work through this pain and shock of the accident
I hear what you're saying about staying in the depths of grief to hang on to your mom however I can't imagine your mom would want you feeling despair ongoing anymore then you would have wanted this for her
Working through the stages of grief won't let you lose touch with your love for your mom.... I still talk to my mom at times and I lost her about 10 years ago
I have found that overtime I can now celebrate the lives of my parents and smile when I can think of them … even laugh at times
These amazing people deserve to be celebrated however it takes time to get to this place and there is really good help available to help you work through this very painful stage.... It's hard when we feel so raw
DS is a good site.... I'm glad that you've found us...… Venting is good....
Another hug and a blessing....xo
You'll see in the replies, that people mean well and give lots of advice, just wanting to get you past the hurt that is obvious from your message. Some of those people have probably been crushed by a weight of grief that is similar to, or even surpasses your own, HOWEVER, it is not YOUR grief, and typed words can just seem like birds flying by, making noise, but not making a difference to you.
I suspect what you really crave, (I know I have), is for someone with the power to wind back the clock, reset the paths, so that the people that populated our lives and brought us joy, are still there. That seems the only power that could take the gaping wound away.
While you are in that place, perhaps the only possible 'help' to offer is that which Job's friends originally offered him when his family was killed in one day. They just sat with him. They said nothing, but their presence invited Job to grieve in front of them, however he needed. In that way, I too can 'weep with those who weep'.
I suspect that your eyes are only able to look back, and not see today with clarity, and certainly no vision for tomorrow, yes? Still, I can virtually sit quietly. I'm listening, but don't demand that you hear or respond to any advice, right now.
As I monitor 'dailystrength' for your entries ( a virtual way of sitting with you) I will lift you up, using my faith, to open heaven for you. Nothing is required of you, at all. His Grace and Mercy will rain on you, because He is good. Still, you may not feel any different for awhile. That's ok.
Time is not a factor, either. I will rejoice in any light that may peak through the darkness, I will be a strong listening tower for you to behave badly with,,should anger, petulance or fear emote from you.
I know that grief is a place where our very foundations are shaken and whitewashed parts of us are exposed. The niceness that most of us are encouraged to put on when we go around others, may be gone for quite awhile, while grief scrapes relentlessly away. That's ok, too.
I will not suppose that I know the 'you' that you would like to present, during this time. I will answer questions, should you ever ask, with whatever wisdom my Heavenly Father affords me, but I will not offer any, because this is likely not a time when you are in learning mode. All of this is ok.
I am placing you in the hands of Holy Spirit, our Comforter, and have added you to my intercession tasks. Also, I will be watching for any more that you choose to say.
Sincerely,
AniLo
