I also watched the memorial. i thought having the casket there was a little different. Wonder if anyone else thought so. I really think he might not have been in there. Shouldn't he have been buried or cremated by now?

The impact of Michael Jackson's existence on this earth is self-evident. It is one's personal capacity that expanded or retracted from the experience of his life and death. No one will truly know what it meant to be Michael Jackson. As I remember young men and women bursting in tears at the sight of him because they loved him so much during his concerts, the reality of the cruelty that accompanied his experience of this world is not to be taken lightly.

I was talking to a friend yesterday and she felt that he was in the casket. What do you think of the memorial? Do you think it was done appropriately or do you think it was to glizty? We don't know the real Michael Jackson, just his music and that he was maybe the greatest entertainer the world will ever know. We are lucky to still have his music.

He was an amazing person and extremly talented. My heart goes out to his children, family and friends. I guess as far as the casket was concerned it would be like having a casket at any other memorial service. Maybe it seems different because the casket wa not in a church or funeral home?

I also thought his memorial service was tasteful. As for the casket there, I am sure it was empty, but it was a symbol and a reminder of his death not just the star studded event. His music lives on. I sincerely hope that his children are raised by someone who understands them.

I think he was truely gifted and it's a shame whenever someone like that is taken away from us, although his music will remain. Now only Madonna and Prince remain of the power triad.

I watched the memorial and cried through the whole thing. I appreciate that he had great talent, but he was such a troubled human being,as shown by all the changes he made to his appearance over the years and by the way he lived his life. I'm still not sure whether or not I believe the allegations of child abuse made against him. I know he was aquitted of the charges, but juries aren't always right.
The whole service was quite glitzy, but it was very entertaining...some great talent.
I feel so sorry for his children. He sheltered them from the public so much, and now they are being shown to the world. I hope they can have somewhat of a normal life now. I hope MJ's mom gets custody of them.

I was so moved by Brooke Shields elegy she was so visibly shaken and almost overwhelmed and I thought it was a testament to our not really knowing him. My prayers are with him and his family. I felt the whole service was quite moving and was touched that they had his casket there it made it that much more personal. I found the service very moving, I was offended when the media would refer to it as an event, I felt it was a memorial service, handled with dignity and grace.

I watched the memorial also. I thought it was very nice. I to wondered if he was really there in the casket as well.

I feel much sympathy for his children, and the extended family. I hope everything works out to the children's benefit.

I am concerned about the children's welfare because I saw on a tv program that Joe Jackson is taking an interest in the children's talent, he mentioned that Blanket is a very good dancer and indicated that Paris also might be in the entertainment industry. I hope the children aren't expoited because of who their father was. I heard that Michael didn't like his father.

I read on the news on tv last night that his death has given birth to a new generation of fans, weird huh.
