Hi,
I lost the love of my life and my soul mate Oct 7th, 2014. I thought finding him at my age, 50, was a true miracle. That miracle was taken from me in a very short time and I am struggling to live without him. He was 53 and had a heart attack. While I was at work I knew something was very wrong, I hadn't heard from him all morning. I tried texting and calling but there was no response. I left work before noon and found him in our bathroom. He had collapsed over the edge of the tub. The image of how I found him flashes in my mind over and over. My life ended that day as I died with him. I don't know how to live without him and struggle with everyday tasks and focusing at work. How can this ever get easier? We were to be married on Dec 13th so we could share our first Christmas as man and wife.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my boyfriend 02/11/14 of a sudden heart attack. Also, found him in bathroom after he wasn't answering phone calls. I was in a fog for a long time and feel like I have been living in a daze. It does get better eventually. You will get your focus back. Just take small baby steps and breathe. There is a widow/widower support group on Daily Strength that is for partners, too. They are very supportive. (((Big hugs)))

Life is a fragile thing! I too grapple with this notion of permanence, of wanting everything to last forever, when everything, including life itself, is transitory and temporary. Hold onto today and try to grab onto what pleasure you can find! You'll find love again.

So very sorry for your loss. The grieving process is different for everyone. I hope you can get to a support group and live your life eventually. It is a process, day after day, doing little things that give you pleasure, being with other people who you admire and feel close to. Use your friends and family to help shoulder the pain.

Undyinglove - I am so sorry to hear of your loss, the loss of a spouse or life partner is one of the hardest things to work through. I just joined this group a short time ago. I lost my wife on 09-17-2014, and like you I suffer from the images of how I found her and the hours right after, while they attempted to revive her. I didn't want to join a grief group, and go to meetings, so I found this group on line- and I love it - it is what I needed to understand and feel like I am not alone in this struggle. I also struggle with the focusing at work, so understand how hard that is. - Again, I am so sorry to about your loss, and I hope you find this group as helpful as I have. - HUGS -
