Bereavement Support Group
Are you grieving the loss of a loved one? Whether you lost someone recently or it's been years, grief and its accompanying emotions can be complicated to cope with. Join our online support group to connect with a supportive group of people who really know how you feel. Help is right here.
If you have siblings or a significant other lean on them as much as you need to. I would also sugest that you find some grief counciling or use this support group as much as you can. It is a very hard road to travel when you loose your parents and especially so close together. I know it helps me to talk about.
I am usually around if you need someone to talk to about this. Again i am so sorry ! Big Hugs and prayers for you.
Sonya, if you ever want to talk to him, don't hesitate. He's good people. I can vouch for him! I agree with all that he's said. As far as breaking your promise to your mom, when she asked you to make that promise she might not have anticipated this happening to you. You know your mom, what would she have said had she known?

When I feel weak I ask my mom and dad to give me strength and it helps. When I'm alone, I talk with them, especially with my mom. I can hear her in my heart and I know exactly what she would say. When I feel sad, I remind myself that my parents wouldn't want me to feel sad. They would want to see me happy and smile. Your mom and dad would want that for you too.
Hugs and love!
Doing volunteer work with others of your parents age will maybe give you the feeling of having someone from the older generation and the Seniors in nursing homes and such just sooo love to be adopted by someone. There are many who are alone and have no visitors or kids of their own.
God Bless you!
At a wake service I once heard the minister say that the death of a parent changes a child's life forever...the children who were grieving their mother were 40 year old men. Having lost one parent I cannot imagine how hard the loss of one's second parent is.
Please keep sharing. The wonderful people here have helped me tremendously.
I am new here but just lost my father one week ago and my mother
9 months ago. They were in their 80's but I guess we get used
to having them around. I come from a very dysfunctional family
with mental illness issues. My mother tried to kill herself at 81 and
then nothing ever seemed to be OK. She was in and out of mental
hospitals, almost got shock treatments but her age and heart condition
prohibited it. My 2 siblings have written me off because they feel
that they were going to get nothing so they pulled out all the stops
to keep me away and well all they did was scare and manipulate
two old people into misery. They were so sad at the end of their
lives. My mother was found deceased at my sister's when my
sister left her alone to go to the beach. I still don't know how she
died or even when actually. My father was dumped into a disgusting nursing home and he died on the way to the hospital
where he should never have left. They sent the poor man to rehab
and he could not even breath. I had no input, nothing to say or do
except stand by helpless. Well the only thing that I have now is
I don't have that panicy helpless feeling of doom. I just have to
deal with all the emotional baggage left behind. I hope you don't
have extra grief as I do.
