Wednesday, February 25, 2015|A Tragic story
I'm usually a happy go lucky person, I've beat hep c with a treatment which left my hep c inactive for over 6 years . I quit smoking cigs. Over 8 years ago. I reached out to my ds friends also march 2010 when my mom passed away, it was so painful. But still I had the optimistic personality. Then I ended up with a job in may 2013. Pretty happy. we my husband and I had opened our home to a friend as a roommate who had no where else to go. My husband and I had also started a wonderful church april 19th 2009, the year before my mom died, I had always thought of it as God's forsight of how much I needed Him and a solid church family.
The year of 2014 became the year of hell, first my 23 year old niece died of a heroin overdose January 10th, ( not the one I helped she's still over 3 years clean, though it was her sister). Then my brother got out of prison October 12th having been there 10 years and I had a sister who was looking forward to his release more than anyone except him of course. She is the mother of the sisters who were heroin addicts.
Anyway she overdosed on prescription drugs oct 16 didn't get to see my brother and he came straight up for her funeral, staying at my house. Then the roommate was having a lot of medical problems, taking his medicine wrong abusing it and the week after my sisters death,he started a big fight with me threw stuff screamed at me broke his bedroom door, so after 2 years, I kicked him out. He knew how much I was hurting, he showed no compassion and was very selfish. . Then the roommate called my work and caused me to lose my job.
My brother was very kind and helpful through all this. I actually hadn't seen him for about 18 years so I sincerely enjoyed our time together. He was trying to get his life straight riding a bicycle until he could get his drivers license reinstated. Well on the night of February 11th he was riding the bike and was hit by a car and killed. He swerved into them the driver did nothing wrong. He needed better reflectors and maybe shouldn't have been riding in the dark on a main highway. Regardless of small details, he was gone at the young age of 52.
I feel like I can't take anymore.

Wow, I will pray for you. In early 2006 my mother got ill and we had to put her in a nursing home. She needed to go on dialysis and refused to do so. She just decided she would stop taking her medication and let nature take it's course. She died in July 2006 in that nursing home. On November 14, 2006 I got that late night knock on the door....it was a police officer there to tell me that my first born son died in a car accident in California (I live in Pennsylvania). He was 21 years old.....I am crying as I write this now....I miss him sooooo bad. Well I went on to loose my husband....who kept telling me I have to get over it.......my new home, my new car, my government job and I just wanted to die.....My life has been changed forever....I just function now....I even worked at McDonald's for five months and a local thrift store....I still to this day wish it had been me and not him...he had just had a daughter who was 14 months old when he died.....and now I'll tell you were I am today.....I am a caregiver for my brother who is mentally retarded and I work full time. He needs bathed, shaved, meals prepared, clothes selected, diapers changed, the whole nine yards and I have a full time job $15.75 per hour a 2012 car and I rent a decent home......My spirit is gone....and I miss my mother and son terribly but I have kept my promise to my mother to take care of my older brother when no other sibling would do so.....I am a sad, lonely soul as dating is out of the question since I have to rush home from work to care for my brother and my weekends are spend doing the same.......but you see my point is......IF I CAN DO IT SO CAN YOU......keep your chin up and keep plugging along....GOD IS GREAT!!! I lost alot but I didn't give up......God bless you! I will pray for you....

This is a tragic story and I imagine that you are completely devastated. How much can one person take?!?! I hope you have been able to go back to work and that you have leaned on your church family for strength. Prayers for you and yours

I'm so sorry. I know it's a painful time, but try to focus on what you DO have, relatively good physical health, a loving husband and a loving church community. I've found the best way to get through this crap is by getting involved with others and THEIR problems. I'm sure your church will be happy to put you "to work", and they might hear of upcoming paying jobs as well. While of course you need to take time for yourself and grieve, take some time to stay socially proactive too.
