I know what it's like to lose both a mother & a best friend. I understand your sadness. And it's awesome to know that your mother put-up a courageous fight during her illness. Your friend was your rock, amazing way to remember a true friend! I agree with you that you will continue to live by the special moments you each shared, and with both the souls of your mother and good friend forever beside you, all is still as a comfort. Keep your confidence in the loving memory of your mother and friend active. They want and care that you be happy now.
To answer your good question: The way I see it is that everyone wants and deserves hope during rough times. Are you a spiritual person? I am. Truly, I've found my own hope by using spiritual resources as a way to search for those hopeful answers, especially answers which assures me during those doubt-driven moments, where questions may unexpectedly pop-up, such as with your question. So the answer may be that in finding or building a reserve of your spiritual power, then you may possibly obtain a useful answer to your question. Though it is my own personally hope for you to keep faith in the good friendship which you shared while your mother and friend were alive as this will move you swiftly to seek for satisfying answers. What's special is that not very often are there times when a friend leaves such a powerful impression of love and care as yours did, which I see you expressing your friendship in a kindly way. Your mother and friend would be so happy to read what you say of them. And what you once shared together will always stay as important. So I'm happy that you are trying to cope now. This is the healthy approach in this matter. And remember this: your mother and friend are never absent as you keep an active memory of each in your mind and heart. Your words of them are so sentimental and beautiful.
Best always,
Remiah
Thank you for your thoughtful words and message. I agree that the special and defining moments of these special and unique relationships can always remain present with you. I have tried to look from their perspective, if there is something unique and of value that they could see (and maybe I can't see). I feel as though they did see something of value and worth, and that will continue to be important and meaningful to me. I am just not sure that it is likely that I will encounter another rock of a friend that knew and understood me well - but I can remain hopeful that I will have additional positive relational experiences in the future.
Respectfully,
Scott
