If you are still with therapy, I hope that this treatment has helped you to feel better and that you are experiencing less and less depression.
What is a staff of comfort for me is to walk in the promise of a healthy spirit, and that is to know that no fear of bad news and discouraging behaviors can control me. And you may find your own healthy spirit as you continue with getting skilled treatment for your depression.
It would be wonderful if you could talk and be with family during those special occasions and not feel sorrow and grief, and especially as you miss your dad so very much; however, when we suffer by the loss of people and thing(s) most dear to us, our loss is hurtful, then you must find the sure way to gain strength and purpose for living. So please see a step ahead, day by day, with no fear. And while you avoid talking with family, this is really a good choice for you that is, until you are completely confidant that returning to family will work in your best interest. But as for now, find that strong staff of trust in your choices and walk with it on many dark days. Plan a future of hope; it is very possible!
Pursue those things that keep you on track and balanced and give you even glimpses of joy or make you laugh. Take your time and take each moment with your loved ones as precious time, because you never know how much time you have with them.
Try not to skim over the grief for it will always catch up. Grief can play a huge role in depression I know. It can feel like you'll die as you experience it as it's hell painful but take it gently and come up for air, ask for help, surround yourself with people you love and take one day at a time... thats how you'll get there.
You are not alone.
There are no rules in grieving. You do not have to talk to or see anyone when you do not want to. From my own experience I share please be careful not to isolate. I did quite a bit & it was harmful as it kept me feeling blue longer. When I started taking a little step each day it was easier and I made progress.
Wishing you comfort, peace & joy!
