I am sending this message out early...........

During the past year we have experienced a deep tragedy. Our daughter Sarah died at the age of 29 on April 6, 2010 of an anoxic brain injury. Her organs and tissues were donated to help others live.
The joys of the holiday are not lost but hidden for a time. We will not be sending out Christmas cards this year. We thank you for your love, support and prayers during this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a courageous gift you gave to others so that your daughter will continue to live in others. May God continue to hold you in the palm of His hand.

I so understand this message. My prayers go out to you and your family. Last year, not one card made it out, and all my kids got were gift certificates from a few local places because I totally forgot about it until the very last minute.

What a difficult choice and amazing gesture on your part. I wish more people would do the same. Perhaps in future years, especially at holidays, in lou of cards, you may decided to send ppl a christmas card with info about how to become an organ donor and your short story inside.

I think ppl often dismiss it , thinking, " oh , who cares, i'll be dead anyway", or "its mine", never contenplating the family on the other side of that curtian who may have been hurt in a car accident, or is awaiting an organ due to illness, and your loved one has already passed on.

Its a beautiful gesture. and you had the chance to give back, and allow your daughters legacy to live on in others lives...

Perhaps not a bad idea to send out as an email.. to friends, or post on facebook; to keep friends informed.

I'm sorry for you loss, I will pray for your family and I will think of you through the holidays as they are painful still for us. I don't think they are quit the same ever again, but we do go on.
