One of the reasons why I havent been writing is because I was the victime of domestic violence. On the 7th of March...Brad went to the reunion and all of his so called drinking buddies--well they need to go back home to their parents to learn to grow up.When Brad came home..he was totally wasted. He put down the golf clubs and thats when all of the bull started.Brad hasnt touched a drop of liquor in 5 years...that weekend he began to drink and drink heavily. He began to drink that Millers beer 6 pack..sometimes he would drink at least 10 cans a day..and he was just changing and I dont have anyone here that I can turn to..But one night...I asked him a question...Brad grabbed me by my arm and punched me in the stomach.I did double over in pain and the stomach is still sore.He just kept hitting me and he told me to get out...After this happened...I heard a crash and I went into my room.He had fainted and I thought that he was dead...Noone was around so I had to carry him on to his bed and he was just so sick after that and I went out for awhile...so kiddies..this is domestic violence..it is on the increase here..it is because of the lack of jobs and the lack of money. It is also the fact that when men grieve...the men in seattle either have affairs,or go to the gentlemens clubs...Brad never recovered over the death of his father and he nev er talks about him..but this was on the anniversary of his dads death and I know that this is his way of dealing with it...then I began to cry...now I know what Frank meant when he said 5 years and I know why Frank never liked him...Brad drank heavily for one week and guess what? He stopped drinking and went to a psychiarist...he told this doctor a great deal of things that he has never told me.The doctor told me that Brad has got high blood pressure...with high cholestrol and he is a bit depressed..does high blood pressure change people? Do they make them fight? What would any of you ladies have done if he has hit you? You see...I am in a split decision here..I cant leave Brad because of the economy and I cant go home to New York.I lost my house to Medicare after my mother was admitted and I have got nothing. This is another aspect of domestic violence..it leaves everyone is total poverty..and this is why i miss my father..when he was alive..I never went or had this bull.As for me..I will admit it..I did have a love affair. It was many moons ago and it didnt work out and you know something.I still love and think about this guy...because he taught me so much and will always be a postive force in my live and I will never forget him because he is very ill and I expect the hospital to notify me and others soon. And If I have offened anyone..I am truly sorry...I dont know how to restart my relationship with Brad...my stomach is still sore...I dont know what to do..I dont know what to say no more..but all I have are my cats and Brad aint getting them...Nicole Simpson must have suffered but I refuse to end up like her and I refuse do it...but I have noticed that domestic violence in seattle can also occur when a man loses his job or on the day of the funeral or the anniversary of the parent. My cats are doing so much better.Brad has never hit or abused my cats and he wont allow anyone who dont like cats over and if you dont like cats...you cant come to my house.

Dear Vader, your story has touched me, so i want to help you out. I firstly want to say that no woman should put up with domestic violence or abuse of any kind. I have a good feeling here, though, that if you left him, then a new door or oppurtunity might open up to you that you never saw before or never had. Many females feel so helpless when they are in such situations as yours, but that is not true. Everybody, and i do mean everybody, has the choice to change the enviroment they live in. A lot of the time, it is far from an easy decision, but noone deserves to be beaten for any reason, parental death or no. You have the power to change your world and be happy. There are shelters and such for abused women that will help you get back on your feet again. Just don't fall into the "i'm sorry" bit that abusive men often give. They WILL do it again and they WILL hurt you worse. I just hope this reaches you well. Take care, and my inbox is open if something else comes up.

Thanks for your reply. It has been like a big roller coaster...but do you know that some employers now dont want to hire women who are victims of domestic violence? This is not really wide spread..but some employers in seattle simply "dont want to be bothered."When I heard this..I exploded! First of all...who are these people to cast judgement of me and everyone else? Secondly...even tho we are in bad times...what a person does after 5 o clock is none of the employers business. They are just taking to the extreme..It means giving up my cats and my cats were afraid to even come to him.Kramer hid in my closet and little Tooey hid under my bed.Domestic Violence has put me in the poor house. Will I ever be ahead? I dont think so...
