My former pastor married my ex and moved out of state with my kids without even saying a single word to me. I had no idea there was even anything going on between them. I too her to court to try and prevent the move, but the judge granted her request. They didnt let me know when they were leaving, they just left without me getting to say goodby to my kids. I called my kids on Thanksgiving, and found out they had already left the state. I said "I love you" to my son before he handed the phone to his sisters. He didnt say it back. He always says it back. That was the last time I spoke to him. I have wondered the reason he didnt say it back. The most logical explanation is he was already handing them the phone and he didnt hear me. But that doesnt bring me any comfort, because the last oppotunity I had to tell my son I loved him, I took, and he might not have heard me. Early the next morning they were involved in an accident involving a big rig. Because it was out of state and I wasnt informed untill three hours later, I didnt have enough time to get there to see him before they sent him to the corroners. Of course my ex and her husband wanted the church to do all the arrangents for the funeral, and it was very one sided.
I arived at the viewing before she did. I went in there with some of my imediate family. After a few minutes I asked if everyone would exit the room so I could have some private time with my son. I was only in there for like 5 minutes, if that, when my ex and her husband walked in. They slowing walked up and stood on the other side of the casket. And they just stood there. It made me very uncomfortable, so I left the room and shut the door behind me, giving her her own alone time with him. They opened it up for everyone when they were done. There were a lot of people at his viewing. I stayed out of the viewing room for most of the time. I did go back in there a couple different times, but there were alot of people in there. I couldnt open up the way I needed to. As we were closing up, one of the staff members came over to me. She said she noticed that I didnt get to spend that much time with my son and asked if I would like some private time with him after they close it down. I told her I would love that. I go in there and I start talking to my son. I begin to cry and pray. After a few minutes I feel something weird, like a hinderence. I push past it, but a few minutes later I feel it again. And then I hear my ex yelling at the staff members. She's asking them why she doesnt get extra time with him. I walk out of the room, and she storms off out the door. Apperently she came in claiming she thinks she might have left her phone in the veiwing room, but I know she just wanted to see what I was still doing there, and wanted to ruine my time with him. Who does that? After that my nerves were shot, I couldnt go back in there.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

People can behave badly when they're grieving..... Anger can be a stage of grief thus it can turn ugly sadly when people hurt so much
Finding a RL group for parents who have lost children might be of help to you to get support and a place to talk and vent
Again I am so very sorry that you've lost your precious son..... Big hug......xo
I second what SunCloudJD said about how anger can affect people's behavior in a time of grief- I have witnessed that myself. It might be helpful to speak to a counselor.
I believe you could benefit from talking to a counselor and just getting your feelings out there. As a parent we automatically carry guilt...it's just a given, but when you lose a child there's a whole LOT more guilt then just the normal kind. Sending prayers to you.
