Well my story starts two years after graduation from high school. My father discovers that he has blatter cancer. he gets the sugery to remove the soft ball sized tumor in his blatter first surgery i have ever seen my dad do. i think i delt with that fairly well but he dosent take any treatment. I wanted him to do the treatment and he thought that when the tumor was out he would be fine. i stuck around, because my dad has cancer right and i dident want to get involved in anything else besides making memories with my ol man. life goes on for another two years or so me at his side, untill he finds a new love of his life, but now she has some medical issues and my dad loves her so he does what he can to help, paying the medical bills and you know living life having a little fun us three. medical bills keep on coming and at this point i'am hanging around and i start to see that these medical issues are continuing and my dad keeps on working to pay for the bills. well it got to a point where i started to wonder if this new love of my dad would ever get better. well long story short she left because of me. shortly after she moved out my dad went in for another check up and well there was three more tumors in his blatter. now i'm thinking, oh no this is a reacurring issue. please take some treatment besides surgery. Not, my ol man was a stubborn one, but now its just me and my dad money is tight so he heads back out on the road after he recovers from the sugery only now he is jumping around from job to job come to find out the old flame is back and he starts to see her again only now no medical issues or at least she has got her finances in order this time maybe who knows. well then we start to work together at a local scrap yard and at this point things are really tight in the finance dept. we are just barly making ends meat but we made a go of it for awhile. soon after that he starts have issues again bladder cancer only now stage stage four it has spread lower intestine lymph nods. doctors want to put tubes into his kidneys to in effect bypass the bladder. well ok were done with the scrap yard i go to work full time we got bills to pay. Now i am making bank and i get to see my dad every day he gets the tubes in his back but we still manage to make a few wonderful memories. i tried to keep him active and that was his down fall i think. well one day he messed up his back with a task that i had left for him to do, and i make it about a week after that and i up and quit my job to spend some time with my father i was hoping to get another summer or two of good times with my dad but the pain was so great he had a bout of uncontrolled pain one day. I have never in my life ever heard my father call out in pain so much never have i seen my father cry from pain. i am so scared at this point he is telling me to send him a way please god take me now finally a nurse from hospice comes with a social worker nurse recomendes a cad pump basically a morphine drip and we go for it social worker starts the process of getting him to a nursing home. well pretty much the next day we get the cad pump and he is calmed down a bit so i asked him where he wants to die. he points at the floor and says right here. so thats what happened canceled the social worker and from then on i saw my dad die i got a good two weeks of a broken man but he was still here was able to talk laugh play some cards. well week three his body started to betray him constipation, moving very little he used two canes to walk started to wear adult diapers could hardly get into the shower. i turned into a nurse everything started to change so fast. day by day worse and worse the bed sore started then right above his crack at the end it was 7in by 6in. i saw his final moments five half breaths and he was gone eyes open. i miss him and i will never forget him.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

A RL bereavement support group might really help.... I'm glad you're here..... Another hug and a blessing.....xo
Grief has so called 'stages' that we go through and anger is one of them... It's hard.... People aren't always available and they don't stay available that's why a bereavement group can be good.... If you're in the US there are Meet Up's for grief that are free and you could call the American Cancer Society there may well be groups that they offer
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross wrote wonderful books on Death and Dying that discuss what we may go through when we're grieving .... The feelings are painful and often even confusing.... You could get these in any library
There's a lot of information online about grieving..... We never stop missing them however I have found as time passes the pain is less.....xo

I tend to look at bereavement as more of a set of emotions we need to deal with than stages. But that is just how I processed my losses. The biggest things that helped me was knowing that I was not the only one dealing with loss, that everybody has a different way of dealing with loss, that the emotions or stages do not come in a set order for everybody and that we can cycle back and forth between emotions or stages, and that we do not have to learn how to master each stage (or emotion) before the next one hits us.
Now is a great time for you to focus on yourself. If your grandmother does not mourn the loss of her son, then don't make your recover depend on her doing so.
Also if i may ask at what age did you lose your ol man?
I think it is perfectly sane for you to talk to your father.
I'm getting ready to talk to my father myself! In fact I want to tell him about my MIL who just fell pretty bad, but did not need to be hospitalized.
