I'm so sorry for your loss. Those words can't come close to the pain your feeling. I just get thru my grief sometimes 10 minutes at a time. It does get better with time. Just hold on & try to think of all the good times you had with your father. I'm sure that's what he would want for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I am new to the process myself, but everyone keeps telling me one day at a time, one minute at a time, and that really is what it is about I think. Nothing is going to fix it or take away the pain, but you just have to do what you have to do to get to the next moment.

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in August of 2015. In some ways it hurts as if it were yesterday, and in other ways, perhaps on other days, I can talk about it without any pain.

2 days is VERY short, my guess is that you are still processing it There are a lot of things to do; from planning a service to settling his estate.

What family do you have near you? Is your mom still alive? Are you married? DO you have children? How about siblings? Sorry to blast you with questions, guess I'm saying reach out to your family and close friends for support.

You look very young to be losing your dad. I am so sorry for his leaving.. I lost my mom just over 2 weeks ago, and here I am as well.
I did just undelete her voicemails so I can now hear her voice. If that helps you in any way? The Lord is my strength, and I hope yours as well. He will see us through.

Thank you all for the kind words and words of advice. I am very lucky to have my mother (his ex-wife) and my sister in my corner. They have held me up physically and emotionally. I am truly blessed to have them.

As for a few answers: I am 38, he was 69 (6 weeks short of 70), although he has been sick for almost 15 years in a nursing home for the last 5 years this is still a major shock. I have to admit last night I cried like I never cried before, but I think it might have helped. I am sure I will post more tonight or tomorrow.
