I lost my Mom in Feb of this 2017, and my Dad passed away 30 days later. They both lived a beautiful, happy and long live(both almost 94). I thought I was going to be ok, knowing that they lived a full life. Mom's passing hit me a lot harder than I was expecting, and then when Dad passed a month later I was overwhelmed. I guess I wasn't expecting to feel all this sadness! It's only been two months since Dad left us and the sadness and hurt are still there. Why can't I just feel blessed that I had them both till I was 61 and have so many wonderful memories. Does time help and how much time before I can start feeling like myself again?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

It's been a few years for me now and holidays are still hard for me..... You are grief stricken and grief hurts
Over time what I've found is that I can now celebrate their lives.... I can think of them and smile and even laugh at wonderful memories .... I go through old pictures and smile...... It does take time..... Letting out your grief is an important step to healing
If you think that grief has triggered depression you should see your doctor.... It certainly can.... Losing two people who you loved in such a short period would be very hard to bear.... Age doesn't matter sweetie.... You loved them..... Another hug and a blessing......xo
I lost both of my parents and I miss them CONSTANTLY! The more that time goes on, the more I realize how great they were to me and what I lost. My Dad passed away first and my Mom and I helped each other through it. Having each other helped a LOT! We were always helping each other deal with it until she passed away. When she passed away is when I really lost it. I am the youngest of 4 children and the only one never married and with no children. It is me and my female Black Labrador Retriever, who my Mom loved so much and who I love so much.
I am and you are adult orphans. Do NOT let ANYONE tell you that you are not and that you should not be missing them because, "they had a good and long life," or any such nonsense.
I am here with you. Huge hugs to you!
