I then tried to transpose those fond memories on new people, trying to form new relationships that were similar to the relationship I enjoyed with my brother. I'm generally successful. I enjoy making people laugh, and thankfully, I'm usually able to do that.

When you're able to only remember the GOOD times, with the bad final moments a distant memory, I think you'll get your smile back. And she's not that far away, y'know. Every night, when you fall asleep, she may be there, crossing paths with you, in your dreams!
i have been doing everything to keep busy but the sadness still lurks in the shadows. my grandma would HATE that i am so upset, which forces me to feel guilt.
i was with her when she died and she looked me right in the eyes as she passed. i "coached" her to go be with my late grandfather and told her it was okay and i would be okay and now i feel like i lied to her because i don't feel okay at all. i held her hand through her last few weeks of life and told her how much i love her, how much she is loved, and how beautiful and special she is to me. i told her that i never loved someone as much as i love her, and i meant it.
my fiancee has been totally amazing for me but i know im putting him in an uncomfortable spot because i cry every night and i try so hard to be strong that my lip will violently quiver and i just cant hold it back. even today at work ive had constant tears streaming down my eyes.
i literally have dreaded this my whole life, and now it is my reality, and its EXHAUSTING to be so "strong" all the time. i know its what she would want from me but its so hard. i don't know how to live my life without her yet. sometimes i feel guilt for wanting to know how.
