Gutted - Dad is Dying

My Dad is dying of old age and other associated problems and it is killing me inside. I have never lost anyone close to me and this is the worst feeling I have ever experienced.

I'm not sure what to do because I know this is just the beginning. When he's gone I will feel like a part of me is gone and I'm so scared. I hate this so much and just want it to end.

I can relate to your fear and your pain and I am sorry you are going through this!

It is very hard losing the ones we love for any reason. I lost my entire family over 1.5 years time. :( I am still grieving badly and that was 2 years ago. It get a little easier as time goes on. The only that really helps me is knowing that they are in a better place and all together there. I also try really hard to keep them alive in my heart and mind , by remembering the good times and focusing on them.

Again I am so sorry your going through this. The best advice I can tell you is to tell your dad everything you always wanted to say! Dont live with regrets of not saying anything to him. My dad died sudeenly one morning and I was not able to tell him. My mother died a month later and I was not able to tell her either so I live with all the regrets.

Hi I feel your pain it was so sad to see my angel mom decline until she passed (march 18th)She lived with me & my husband x 2 years.What helped me was to make her last years the best ever-buy her special chocolates flowers took her places etc..I let her know how much I loved her -frequent hugs we also recorded her life story which was fascinating-she was 94 !Hang in there-acceptance of death is part of life...

It is so tough to see our parents decline. If he still coherent, I suggest spending as much time with him as possible. Even if it hurts. You won't get the chance later. talk about anything and everything. Clear the air on any past issues. Listen to his feelings and fears or whatever about dying. I know this hurts, but you have a chance to say goodbye and be there for him. Not everyone does. You will never regret it. Good luck to you and god bless.

Relax, you'll rebuild your soul, maybe form a new, sort of surrogate "father-son" relationship with an older man who recently lost a son. God provides great abundance and this has a way of karmically working itself out.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
