God's Not Dead?

Having lost my mom recently, a couple of friends suggested I see the movie called God's Not Dead. It was very good. I'm not an extremely religious person but I do believe in God. With everything that's happened with my mom's illness and her passing, I have been angry with God and started to question my faith. Has anyone else seen this movie? What are your thoughts? If you are a believer in God, has your loss brought your closer to or further from Him?

Tragic loss has brought me closer to God. Sometimes I'm angry with God, but I am closer to Him.

My husband and I just watched that movie. It was very good. When my mother died, I believe it was my faith in God that helped me through the grief, although it is still not over. I still miss her and want to talk to her every day. I am sure God understands your confusion, but I beleive He always has a plan. Remember the vehicles that would not start from the movie? All in God's plan. We just do not always understand His plan, especially when we lose someone we love.

tlindsey9, I too believe that God has a plan and a reason for the things that happen in our lives. It's just hard to see what possible good could come from Him taking my mom. I suppose right now I'm too blind to see anything beyond my own pain of loss.

I seen this movie last weekend.(God's not Dead) I believe in God as well, and have been very angry at him for 'taking' my Brandon. I didn't find this movie to move my 'spiritual' side at all........ don't get me wrong it was an ok movie, but just not what I had expected. The movie that really hit home for me is 'Heaven is for Real'.............now that movie had me in tears and re-fueled my belief in God. I'm sorry for the loss of your son. May you find comfort in the loving and beautiful memories of your son, of your family, and of God. You are not alone...
