Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it’s normal and okay to still feel its weight. You’re not alone, and your love for your mom and your family shows so deeply. Be gentle with yourself.

Two years isn’t that long really especially you guys are so young. Grief will come in waves. Consider grief groups. Or doing things in memory of your mom. In the beginning I always celebrated her bday while this may not help some it helped me. And yes be gentle to yourself and there for each other as much as you can. Last year I finally spread my mom’s ashes which helped me a lot. I am older and it’s hard no matter what. And I still have moments and it be 7 years for me. Sending thoughts for you and your siblings.

I'm so sorry to read you've lost your Mom at such a young age. I was 40 when my Mom passed, that was 32 years ago. I don't think you ever 'get over' the loss of her, what I think is for me, I've learned how to live without her now.

My Mom passed on 7/17, I got a "message" from her called The Golfers Prayer in the Sunday Paper the next day which told me she was in Heaven....I believe that with my heart.

When ever I see on a clock, am or pm, "7:17" I start talking to her. I have been to a Medium, and heard now from All my family that has passed, I've lost all my birth family now at 72.

i didn't like my mother enough to miss her when she died in 2017. but i am still reeling from the death of my youngest son in 2019. he was 35. five and a half years later, i still try to hold every tear as an honor to a love worth missing.

Of course, your feelings are common and "normal" to the situation. I believe we have souls and your mom is loving you from Heaven and so proud of you. I talk to my dead loved ones sometimes. I believe they can hear us. I believe we have what is called "soul cords" that connect our soul to others we love. We can't see them in our human state but this makes sense to me. You may need grief counseling or you guys may need to sit down and talk about feelings. Sit down and each say I miss mom, I wish mom were still here, I feel sad and angry. Listen to each other, process your feelings. Another thing that helps is to journal pen to paper each evening about your feelings. How did you feel today, list out those words of the feeling (like angry and sad), and then find 3 things that day to be grateful for. This makes our focus on gratitude instead of angry or victim thinking. I make myself sticky notes and one that I have right now is "Thank You, God, for the time I had with my daughters." It helps me remember the good, think about my feelings, process them, and be grateful even though it sounds crazy to be grateful for the limited time on earth we had with our beloved family members or friends.

My mom's two year anniversary is 4/23/2025. In my grief support group (griefshare.org) I learned sometimes all you can do is the next thing (the next thing may be eating, sleeping, talking to a friend, etc ). Such a major loss will never feel better but in time you will gain more coping skills. BIG BIG BIG HUG for you.
