My Father passed exactly one week after his 72 Birthday. His Mother had lived with him the last eight years since my Mother’s passing. But at 97 she was having health issues and went to stay with her younger son after receiving a pacemaker. My Father had a friend stay with him while she was away. No one knew Dad had a serious Heart Condition. I live 12 hours away and with my own health issues it makes it difficult for me to travel. But if I had known my Father was ill I would have been there. I had issues with this friend and stated this to my Dad feeling it was inappropriate for him to live-in. I was wrong. Thank God for the friend who called the ambulance because Dad collapsed. He had a massive Heart Attack. At the hospital following a cath we found out Dad had suffered other Heart Attacks and didn’t tell anyone. He would pass it off as other problems. I miss my parents. I had cancer at 29 and was not able to have children. My Mom And Dad were so important to me. I have my Husband and Brother and his family. But, they live so far away. The future has changed and I don’t know how to form a new future. My spirit is very tired...

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

It's hard to imagine losing our parents and it hurts
A real life bereavement group might be a good support for you..... Another hug and a blessing.....xo
I am so very sorry for your loss. I myself am at a loss for words except that you mentioned not having your mom either, so maybe knowing your parents are with each might help. I also have pets which is helpful. I lost my dad 6 months ago. It was the Monday after Thanksgiving and it was also somewhat sudden. My daddy turned 74 in October and was gone the next month. He also had heart problems and was told he needed open heart surgery about 5 years ago; he opted NOT to let anybody know, not even my step-mother. The only reason he wouldn't do it was because he was scared. He thought that quitting smoking, changing his diet and using natural type remedies would "make his heart better". Sadly, my daddy really needed that surgery back then because his health started to deteriorate little by little to the point where he was using a walker and got tired very easy. When his hospitalization started the month prior to his passing his poor heart was at less than 10%. He hung on till Thanksgiving and fought SO hard and was well enough for them to insert a Defibrillator but he was gone 2 days later. My brother and my dad's 1st born son had passed away unexpectedly on 6-6-03; he was 35 years old and my dad never got over it and cried all the time which I know didn't help his heart all these years. Yesterday was my brother's 16th Anniversary and the 1st Anniversary that our daddy was with him. I wasn't able to get thru the whole day at work yesterday and today I also called in. I know that tomorrow will be better. You aren't alone and if you need to talk I am here.
