Nah, I didn't do medication. I got on my bike and started pedalling. Exercise has saved my very soul.
However.......none of that worked.
Time truly is the the healer along with talking about your loved one.
I lost my brother 37 years ago in a motorcycle accident. He was 16 and I was 5 days shy of 15. It ripped my world apart and there wasn't much help available back then......so I muddled through it alone.
You never get over it.....you just get through it.
I am happy to say that time did indeed help heal me. I found ways to honor my brother instead of staying helpless and alone. I have reached out to my brother's friends where we all keep his memories alive to this day.
I was going through some things at my parents home and found a bunch of his stuff in storage. It was bitter sweet and I found a ring of his. I wore it every day for the past few weeks, but alas....I was allergic to the metal and had to take it off. I was a bit sad, but it is what it is. I still have tons of pictures of the two of us together......what sweet memories.
Don't get me wrong. I still cry and miss him like crazy......but knowing that we will be together again someday is somehow a comfort.
I too hope you find an outlet that will bring you comfort in the near future. Keep searching to find something outside of medication if you can....ok?
Come here to vent, cry, or just walk through some good memories......we understand.....really we do ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))

Do you associate with any particular faith? I have facilitated GriefShare which is a great faith based resource. By your post I am gathering that you are not yet 18? My papers and research has been on grief during different developmental stages and it is so different depending on where you are (high school, college, etc.) as well as who you lost.
Time does not heal all, however it can change how you feel about the event. My little sister passed almost three years ago at the age of 37 from cancer and I can tell that time has changed the hurt to warm memories.
I commend you for coming on this site and seeking help because grief is such a hard thing to talk about with those who know you well and want to offer their "advice". Sometimes it is nice to have someone be with you were you are and listen. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and if there is anything I can help you with (different coping strategies etc. from my research) do not hesitate to private message me.

I began watching VIDEOS of my brother, when he was alive and well, despite the fact that I was scared to, for fear it would trigger painful memories, but, in fact, it was very soothing and triggered PLEASANT memories. So maybe that's an option for you-? Now I can watch videos and see pictures of him anytime without bursting into tears. I just think of him when he was alive and well, and realize that that's how he is NOW. The sadness and sickness which consumed him was only a passing, transitory phase.
Medications can help but because your grief is due to a situation, it is called situational depression. I believe a therapist may serve your needs best. IMO...
