Hi I just read a discussion from the pepperman. Did anyone else have family members or friends that seemed to die in the same month. The pepper man and I have the month of august in common. I recently had my dad and husband die in august this year. then when I was thinking about it my grandma and grandpa and 2 uncles also died in august all lined up in one week of aug 16 17 18 19 and 20. Is this a bizarre thing or have any of you had people die in a particular month days or years apart? AS we get older more people leave us. this is natural but it really sucks!!!! wonder what the logic of all in the same month is about. thanks just venting again. Donna

I've only suffered one major loss so (knock on wood) I can't relate. I would think it has to be random though. Although 5 in a row is pretty long odds.

But I have heard that sometimes elderly people will hang on to reach one more birthday or other special date; or until a spouse passes away first.

My father died on August 19. I have a cousin who was named after my mother with her last name being my mother's maiden name. So her name is exactly the same as my mother's before she got married. My cousin's date of birth is August 19!

My sister's death was totally unexpected. Mom was in dementia, so I don't think that she had any subconscious planning of her death. Dad did not want to die, not that I can see. He had a lot of things he was looking forward to, and he had a very active social life.

But August was the month he got married, and he had the death of his daughter and wife to contend with.

I am content thinking of this as simply chance.

But yes, August really sucks for me. Oh yes, I was born in August! So next August will be interesting for me. I hope I just keep myself busy and make a mad dash through the month.

3: mom died; 12: my birthday; 24: parents wedding; 26: dad died; 30: sister died

I've thought the same thing about August. The two dearest men in my life both died in August- my husband and my dad. Although my dad was in '75, my husband was just this past August, I now think of August with much sadness. Your experience is definitely very strange but probably coincidence. Thanks for sharing. I even recently my cousin Chrissy died in august besides all the other people I named in my post so weird. That August has alot of my family died in this month.
