Bereavement Support Group
Are you grieving the loss of a loved one? Whether you lost someone recently or it's been years, grief and its accompanying emotions can be complicated to cope with. Join our online support group to connect with a supportive group of people who really know how you feel. Help is right here.
There is no best way to go, not for us survivors.
Please consider therapy. Many churches and hospitals have grieving classes where they help us manage the emotions of loss. And the classes are group things, so we get to meet others who are in the same boat. In my class most people are there for the loss of a spouse, next comes those of us who lost a parent, then a couple who have lost a child.
So share your story, when you are comfortable!
Gentle hugs, and welcome!
Also call the hospice that took care of your mother and ask for some recommendations. Sadly you might have to keep calling around as a lot people won't bother getting back to you, which is sad when you're already in a state of grief. When you find a counselor see if it helps. And don't be afraid to leave if it's not the right one. If you don't feel comfortable or feeling it's helping then just say you don't think it's working for you and find someone else.
No one in my family would dare go see a counselor, I think it's just the older generations in my family who can't see 'talking to someone' about their problems. I'm glad I'm an adult because if I were a minor and needed help they wouldn't even think about trying to find a counselor for me. Please seek it if you need it.
