When I was a kid my dad died. I was told he would always be in my heart. huh? I was a kid. I took that literally of course. How could daddy be in my heart.?
It will be three years in Feb that I lost my very best friend. We were like sisters. She died unexpectedly. I am finally able to say that I think I am more healed than hurt. Now I can appreciate that she is with me. I talk to her all the time. However that expression did not console me when I was in so much pain from loosing her.
I have dreamed about my sister but it's not any good dreams, mostly dreams about the circumstances being positive as in she is in the hospital getting better rather than what actually happened. Thinking about "good times" means nothing because I always had those good time memories. We want future memories. For me, thinking about past memories brings more anguish than good.
I am beyond devastated. I still can't believe it's real. I can not believe this is truly happening. I feel like it's a nightmare I can't wake up from. I don't feel like I'm a real person sometimes. This is just not happening.
As for the dreams, I too have had a lot of dreams about my dad. I've found that dreams about a lost loved one tend to represent the feelings, thoughts, concerns, etc. we have about their passing. In most of my dreams, I'm in a dangerous situation. My dad is around but he's somehow unable to help me. My interpretation is that it represents my concern about my dad not being able to protect me any more.
