Bereavement - Teens Support Group
This community is focused on teens who have lost someone close to them. Grief is a multi-faceted response to loss, and while most people focus on the emotional response to loss, it can affect us behaviorally, physically, and even spiritually. This is a safe place to talk about how you're feeling and coping with grief, and to share experiences that have helped you through.

My father past away when i was 7 years old and now im 16. I know what most people say "you were too young to get attached to him or realize the space he left" but no my father and i were not just attached but we were one, my relationship with him was amazing and how much i love him and miss him can never be described with words. My relationship with my mother is terrible and i cant help but think if my dad was here how my life would be so much better. Im struggling with everything i just need him back so bad i tried to kill myself multiple times but i realized it was no use because he wouldnt want me to do that he would want me to be happy. I just need to talk to someone who understands, i know i cant change anything i just need someone to cry to someone to support me someone to really understand me

I can understand my dear.. I lost a very close person also. And I know it's really hard.. But life goes on, try to forget about him and try to occupy yourself in drawing or writing.. Don't just let it in your heart. Cry whenever you need to. And.. Ignore every bad action from anyone .. Forget and forgive and you will live a better life . Stay strong (; wish you the best

I can understand. I lost several people within the last ten years and even though I barely knew these people, I'm still grieving over them. It will get easier. Hope you feel better

I lost my dad at 16. Im now 18. Me and my mom found him in a chair that morning after he died and still today i see his face from that day. Its hard. I have seen 2 therapist and am currently taking antidepressants. I was diagnosed with PTSD - depression and anxiety. Through all of the pain i feel everyday i know that there was nothing i could do. Death does not change your relationship with your father nor does it take it away. Death simply makes the love and memories you shared stronger. Death is a change in address it is not a final thing. I do not know if you believe in God but i do. My faith lets me know that i will see my father again but for now i must be strong and even when i feel weak God is being strong for me He fights my battles when i lift them to him. You may have been only 7 but that does not minimize your relationship no one should tell you that you were too young to be upset you knew your father they have no right to say that. No one can tell you how to grieve or how to live but you. I do understand this pain - i still live in the house my father passed in the same house i found him dead in - it makes me feel trapped everyday im constantly surrounded by his death its hard to live when you feel like your being swallowed whole by pain but i do it. I do it because i know my father is still with me even if it is not physically. You can do it to i promise. I won't say time makes it easier because honestly it makes it worse. But it is thro time that you learn to accept what you can not change and time that allows you to find your self even tho the pain of the loss is still stinging.
