Bedwetting Support Group
Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. Find others who are coping with a bedwetting problem and share your experiences and questions.

I have a couple friends that regularly post pictures of there kids in there night diapers on Facebook and that seems unfair to the kids. These kids are like 7 to 10 years old. I know my kids aren’t embarrassed by there need for diapers and don’t hide them but I wouldn’t want to advertise to everyone we know that they still have issues at night. And I’m sure some of these kids friends see these pictures and people will have access to them when these kids are older.....high school kids can be really mean. One is even of her son riding his hover board in the house one morning wearing an obviously very wet diaper. Just curious how you all feel about posting pictures of your kids in there night time protection. I for one would never post something like that.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

It might help to break down the taboo around wearing diapers.
@MommaKate, I think your instincts are correct. I've seen friends post similar pictures, not regularly, but but still seen them. Usually people are just posting cute pictures of their kids, but they don't use much discretion. As an example, one of my friends posted a picture with the caption, "sister pile", of her girls sleeping. One was about 3 or 4, and the other is 6 or 7. Both of their nighties were hiked up enough to show their diapers. Not only is it potentially embarrassing for the kids in the future, but on a dad's group I'm on a guy posted a link to warn us about why we need to keep all kids picture private. It was a link to Russian picture sharing site, similar in nature to something like flickr ... except with almost no oversight, so aside from normal photo sharing, it was used as a repository for the weird and distasteful. If you searched the word "diapers", it brought up thousands of pictures of young kids, and bedwetters in diapers, obviously scavenged from social media and boss, organized into folders by what I can only describe as pedophiles. The fact the photos weren't pornographic themselves didn't hide the intention of the lurid, disgusting, captions and comments.
I find it disturbing when I've seen people put nude pic's of their baby's on FB.... I warned someone on my friend's list that I played a FB game with and had never met and she told he she just shared these pic's with her friends.... I'd never met this woman... She had no idea who I was...…
This could really humiliating for their children it can be dangerous with regards to predators..... You want to build your child's esteem not tear it down....And kids can be really cruel
If these kids want to be advocates when they're ready to that's great!!!.....I believe advocacy empowers us.... This has been taken out of their hands though completely
I would probably send a link to the post to CPS in your area and let them decide what should or shouldn't be done
I sure wouldn't want some creep fantasizing about my child ya know..... Big hug.....I think this is an important topic...…. Way too much is sometimes shared on social media.....xo
At some point it's obviously inappropriate, maybe by around 8, and certainly by 10. But at 4? I'm not quite as sure.
One is the aforementioned image mining. There are people with bad intentions that may be taking and distributing these images for sexual purposes. For some reason, pictures of older kids in diapers seem to be a special interest.
Second, due to the nature of social media, these images are going to stick around. This isn't a here today and gone tomorrow kind of thing. That 6 and 7 year old that might not be embarrassed now (but then again they might, if they knew every one of mommies friends was seeing that picture) may be mortified at age 11 when the class bully finds that picture and texts it to everybody they know. Even if bedwetting is really common, the psychological trauma isn't worth risking. It's a really big deal to the kids, or others experiencing, even if they aren't experiencing bedwetting anymore, but especially if they are.
