I didnt think pullups were great when mine were potty training. They are essentially a diaper and kids just used them as such, plus they cost more. If shes too big for diapers at the supermarket check your local drug store they may have youth diapers. Pampers makes a size 7 that work and fit well.

My 7 year old who turns 8 in a few months we use pampers size 6 for night time, she is a little small for her age but size 7 should fit your daughter. She probably wont be a fan of you asking her to wear diapers again but just reassure her it doesnt make her a baby and doesnt change what you think of her big girl status. Let her know two that diapers arent forever and one day she'll be out of them.

In thinking about it I'm pretty sure that the largest size baby diapers would still fit since she wears toddler pull-ups and not goodnites. I'm tempted to get some at the store today but I'm still not sure how she'd react to wearing one. I know I can tell her she's not a baby and still a big girl, but I'm afraid that logic might not be convincing to a 6 year old.

It always sucks to do something like this because you know it hurts their pride and lets face it kids will think what ever makes sense in their own minds regardless of what common sense and Adult wisdom dictates. But you have to do whats be, Ive been in you position before and what my sister told me helped me focus on what I had to do regardless of how my daughter may see it at first...Kids dont like homework so should you not asked them to do it, realistically you could make a million comparisons to what our kids dont like compared to what they have to do but in the end its better for them and is also better for us and helps both parties. Id imagine in the morning changing her out of a wet diaper is going to be much easier that days like today when you have to change her sheets clean them, the matress, and her first thing in the morning. Its going to help you both sleep easier and cope with bedwetting too

I agree its hard to do, seeing them so upset but being a parent isn't easy, and our kids won't always like or suggestion of ways of dealing with the issue. But in the long run they will see its for their own good. Do what you feel is right

If it helps at all, tell her that some adults (like me) also wet the bed, and wear diapers. Diapers aren't just for babies, that's a myth that has caused a lot of harm for a lot of kids (and adults), diapers are for whomever needs the protection.

Well, we've tried diapers the past two nights. The bed was dry in the morning but getting her in a diaper wasn't a pleasant experience for anyone. She didn't fight it or anything, but was just really unhappy and passive about the entire process.

Does anyone have any ideas to make it easier? I really like that the bed has been dry but am not entirely sure it's worth it.

Hi, One way to foster the idea that you do not see her as a baby is to teach her to put her own diaper on. Tell her babies are diapered because they can't dress themselves and since she is a big girl and making a big girl decision to wear protection at night, you are going to teach her to diaper herself. Then just treat the diapers as part of her bedtime preparations. Before you put on your PJ's, put on your DC(damage controllers).
