Bedwetting Support Group
Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. Find others who are coping with a bedwetting problem and share your experiences and questions.

I was just wondering how people have told a boyfriend or girlfriend about their bedwetting and what the reaction was. How hard was it to bring up the subject. I have never done it as i would be so embarrassed.

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter passing directly into my bladder about 2 inches below my...

As your current DS friend, I really want you to be covered with support in this matter. One suggestion is to approach your friend(s) in a friendly manner with the news. Keep in mind that it is your personality that makes you and not the problem itself. Studying too hard on what to say will cause feelings of embarrassment, but this is a temporary feeling, as you see the practical part of the matter, and this is that you are not helpless because of bedwetting, nor are you disabled by it. You are still a very kind and gentle person with a lot more good going for you than this special issue, dear one. Friends may be told; however to accept your condition is not the problem for a true friend. Friendship is a powerful force and all relationship go through many test in order that the relationship grows with integrity and honor. The honor is that you trust your friends to love and support you while in this condition, and this should be their reaction: to honor you, and please settle for nothing less than their love, honor and respect for who you are, no matter what you tell of yourself, for with the less of the matter this is really not friendship. And you deserve better and true friends.

Oh how I remember this! kept me single for quite a while! But then I met someone and when I knew that things were getting serious I just plucked up the courage and told her. I reckoned that if this killed the relationship it probably wasn't going anywhere anyway. We will have been married for 20 yeas this year and have three wonderful children so I am jolly glad I did.
I have told others along the way and not once have I ever had a bad reaction. Experience has taught me that it is far better and easier to tell them than explain away a wet bed the following day.
Best wishes
Anthony
