Bedwetting Support Group
Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. Find others who are coping with a bedwetting problem and share your experiences and questions.

Hi it's Beth ,
Now I've tried desmo spray and tabs, acupuncture , hypnotherapy, Chinese medicine ( I know but was desperate), have had surgery and a few other things but I am still wetting. Is there anything I can try that has worked for anyone out there.
Please please let me know

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. My bedwetting got a little bit better when I was diagnosed and subsequently treated for sleep apnea. The sleep doctor told me that sleep apnea episodes cause pressure to build in the abdomen and that combined sleeping deeply when one reaches a later stage of sleep or REM sleep can cause wetting episodes. Full disclosure, I still wet at night but that's more likely due to some incontinence problems that also occur for me in the daytime. What I experienced, though, was a noticeable decrease in the amount that I wet at night, a reduction in the number of leaks through my diaper during the night and a much better night's rest overall. If you think you may have problems with sleep or sleep apnea and have not yet spoken to your doctor, that would be my best recommendation.
Best of luck,
CJ
Like you I have tried all these too - including the Chinese herbal medicine! Would I be correct in assuming that you do not have an obvious underlying physical cause? In some respects I am lucky as although I wet the bed off and on as a youngster and early teenager and therefore am slightly pre-disposed to it, my bed wetting and subsequent 24/7 incontinence was caused by injury to spinal nerve pathway. Other than that I am completely active.
I have now accepted it and learnt to manage the situation with protection - TENA Slip Maxi.
Best wishes
Anthony
Good luck!
I have a overactive bladder and need nappy in bed.
