Bedwetting Support Group
Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. My daughter oldest was potty trained fully by 3 years old, but about 2 months we were on a vacation and while at the beach she had an accident. We were a couple blocks from where we were staying and i didnt have a change of clothes with her so in a quick effort to clean her up to get back to the motel with out making more of a mess of her bottom or her bathing suit bottoms I cleaned her up and diapered her. Luckily at the time my youngest still wore diapers so i had the diaper bag with us. I felt so horrible about being so unprepared with extra clothes for her but she hadnt had an accident for a year or so and we were just going to the beach for a little bit. I did have a shirt for her but the poor thing was so embarrassed wearing a baby diaper and tee shirt in public. Now over two months later accidents continue and she has started bed wetting. she hates wearing diapers but the work so much better than pullups especially if she has a rare messy accident. her sister is now potty trained and is 3. I feel horrible but i just dont know what to do we have gone to doctors, run tests, and even seen a shrink (with her father passing away when she was 4 it didnt hurt) everything is normal. so im at a total lost.

I've just been updating my profile information because I had a birthday last week, and so I'm now 25 instead of 24. The first is that she had an accident at the beach and you had to put a diaper on her. It would have been better if you had spare clothes for her, but given the circumstances using a diaper is perfectly reasonable. How long was she in the diaper and did anyone notice or say anything about it?
The second is that she's having accidents and wetting the bed. Did that start right after her accident at the beach? Do you think the two issues are connected somehow?
Our daughter just turned 9 and we still use diapers too, so I understand that you think they work better - we think that too. Does the doctor have any ideas?
