You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi everyone! I thought it might be a good idea for all of us to suggest strategies for how to not pull. I am positive that all of us can be pf, as long as we have willpower and make it hard for us to pull. I usually pull my brows, lashes, and hai before I go to sleep, so I started wearing bandaids, gloves, and an eye mask. So far, it is working great! I have little fiddle toys in the car so that I don't get bored and tempted to touch my new growth.
Do you guys have any good ideas?

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. In the beginning I:
- wore lots of bracelets to alert myself that my hands were going up to my head
- wore strong perfume on my hands to alert myself that my hands were going up to my head
- wrote lots of notes reminding myself not to pull. I put them on my laptop which I'm constantly on
- went for a run when I got the urge to pull
- washed my hair when I got the urge to pull
Now (that I've been pf for a while) I:
- breathe deeply
- Discussing my urges with my support groups
- Writing out all the reasons why I want to be pull free
- Looking at inspiring images
- Getting supportive comments back from my support groups
