Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
Hi everyone - this is the first ever support group I’ve ever joined if any sort, mainly as I’ve only managed to admit to myself that I am suffering from Trich! What a wonderful feeling to know so many of you experiencing the same problems - I have thought it was only me for such a long time. I’ve never spoke to anyone about this before so if any of you could shed any light on how to stop pulling I’d be forever grateful
I’m 20 years old and have been pulling since I was 11. I only pull the top eyelashes and it is so severe, as I have completely bald lids. I wear false eyelashes everyday and wish I didn’t need too. My confidence is so low without them on that I often worry about what I’d actually do without false lashes. I am that embarrassed about it that I can’t take my make up/eyelashes off anywhere in public or around any of my friends or even boyfriend. If I had no eyelashes in the house - I simply wouldn’t leave the house. I would rather phone in sick to work and miss out on big events than go outside without false lashes on. Any time someone mentions ‘why do you always wear fake eyelashes’ I get so defensive and there has been many times I’ve gotten angry at the person who’s asked for that reason as I’m so embarrassed about it.
I notice myself pulling the most when I’m stressed out, for example when there is a deadline in university or if I’m upset in general over something. I’ve never told my GP as again, I don’t feel comfortable discussing it with anyone. As you can probably gauge by now it’s a pretty big deal for me to even be writing this post anencephaly I’m actually in shock that I’m going to post it haha!!
If any of you can relate and have any tips please let me know. Thank you :)

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Best wishes and welcome to the group!
