I sometimes think so but life back then had it stresses too, I think it depends. Poverty is around, back then too, homelessness, no job, it all depends.

49 years ago, in October of 1962, we had the Cuban Missile Crisis. For 13 days the world waited while Khrushchev and Kennedy stared each other down. I was 11 and remember looking at the sky, wondering if it would be possible to see the Russian ICBM before the mushroom cloud formed. We were only 20 miles from Maxwell Air Force Base which, because of the War College located there, was considered one of the nation's first-strike targets.

Then there were the Civil Rights and Feminist movements, lots of political changes, students marching and National Guard firing on them, Vietnam where our soldiers returning home were spat on and called "baby killers".

There were stresses back then, just not the same type.

The Great Depression was considered over by 1940. This is 2011. ;>)

If things don't change soon, we're going to be in another one. Actually, I suspect that we already are, but the powers that be have been blowing smoke by calling it the nicer-sounding "recession".

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
