Sorry to hear that your husband is of no help with your health issues!
do you have other family or friends you could stay with? I would also ask the hospital(s) to see if they could suggest a place they may know of where you could mend on a short term basis

My family is just as useless. There are rehab facilities.
I just took a look at my MRI and it's bad with a B. The cord is literally being sat upon by the three disks. The stenosis is so bad that the cord is almost disappearing under the herniations. I"m pretty sure they will say this has to be done. It can't happen until after the 11 as I have weddings I officiate and I'm it. I can just hear the surgeon screaming now that they want me on the table immediately.

Just don't put off the surgery till you injure yourself and surgery isn't an option..those involved with the wedding wouldn't want that

I have herniated disc in the cervical and lower lumbar the cervical is the worse,I'am convinced the pressure on the nerves are the cause of my Migraines,they are the worse,I can't do a lot of walking without having so much pressure and pain on my left side and in the neck unfortunately I have a blood disorder which will not allow me to have any major procedures.I have done some research and the laser spine institute and the North American spine institute are having success with their laser procedures that are a minimal evasive procedure ,which I could have this done,but the kick back is I'am disabled and on Medicare which they will not pay for the laser procedure.Our medical field seems to be getting worse than better.I can hardly believe that I found a procedure that could possibly help but medicare will not cover the cost.If I were you and you have good insurance ,go for the laser procedure,I had the anterior cervical Discectomy back in 1990 with a bone graft, it lasted a few years then back to the pain again.I wish you luck,check out these places read the reviews.The best of luck to you !!

I am going to put my two cents in. It seems to me that you are putting other peoples needs ahead of your own. I DO understand your prior commitments however your neck issues sound pretty severe and should be addressed ASAP. I don't mean to frighten you but your neck needs to be a priority with you right now. I also don't understand your husbands attitude. Is he like this all the time or just when you are recovering from a procedure? I hope that you do what needs to be done for your health. Hi. I've had a spinal fusion and a cervical replacement. I understand the difficulties during this time with your spouse. Mine has become more supportive over time. Some become worse and this is due to their own problems, not ours. A nursing hospital isn't really the best thing. I've been in two now prior to first surgery. They keep you in bed, medicated and are quite expensive. Fusions themselves are pricey but necessary. Ask for home health care and a patient advocate, they are available for you through your insurance. Do you have someone close who can bring you food, books and entertainment? One friend or a group who could help for the first two.months is ideal. I wish you well. Here to help anytime you need me.

I just finished having a cervical fusion and had to have 6 screws and a couple of bolts put in. I came home and was in a hard collar for 2 more months 24 hours a day. I was able to have nursing come in daily to change bandages and I had a home health aid 2X a week for showers.

I did shopping ahead of time and had everything I needed in the house before I went in. I asked family and friends to do food shopping and to help with showers on other days. I really don't think you'll need a rehab place after and some of them, I really wouldn't go to. I know you said your husband isn't much help, but do you have any other family that can help you out? I'm still having a few issues from my surgery but I had no choice and had to have it done.
