I use a TENS UNIT, lots of Biofreeze, ice and heat. I can no longer stand for more than five minutes without having to sit. I have to use a scooter when I go shopping or anywhere I need to do a lot of walking. I've been in pain management for 3 years.
Steroid injections help some people. Only other option I know of is surgery.
The injection can only be done once every 6 months. I had it. It didn't last long..3 days. Both my parents had it with the same result.
But if the injection works for you, it will help you continue pt. Also might want to consider aquatherapy.
