I was wondering if anyone else out there has the same side effect to pain as my body does.
Short history, I had a discectomy Oct. 09 and after the surgery I was doing pretty good, then I slipped on some ice and tore the same disc and now I have an annular tear that leaks disc fluid onto my sciatic nerve. No end in site, until I want to have a fusion done. And since I am still able to function if I take 1-2 Lortab 10 a day I am in no hurry to have that done.
All day everyday I am in pain (like most of you) and there are some days that I have to postpone taking any pain medication and it always results in diarrhea.
I would also like to know if anyone thinks it is due to withdrawls from my Lortab 10 that causes the side effect, or just simply my body's way of reacting to the increased duration of pain.
I'm really glad the Holiday's are over, I just wish the cleaning fairy would visit my house so that I didn't have to deal with the increased pain that will result in all of that. :)

It would seem to me that it's the withdrawal of the Lortab that is causing the diarrhea. I doubt seriously that it is from increased pain. If that were the case, there would be a real run on anti-diarrhea meds!!! lol
I'm glad the holidays are over too, except my daughter and granddaughter had to head for home in Mississippi (I'm in Michigan) and I already miss them.) I don't do holidays well -- they bother me. And I need the cleaning fairy too. I don't know how I'm going to get all this done. ACK!!
I agree that the diarrhea is due to your not taking your meds. So sorry for you pain.

By then I'm at a 10 and have been there for an hour or 2 & can hardly function at all. I know, I know I shouldn't put myself through that but if you only knew how my family is about my pain you might understand.
