Back Pain Support Group
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek medical care. In fact, about 3 in 4 adults will experience back pain during their lifetime! The term back pain includes pain affecting the neck, midback and low back. Acute back pain may begin suddenly with intense pain but typically lasts fewer than three months. Usually, chronic back pain is persistent, steady, and...
I am also a CP (chronic pain) sufferer due to various spinal conditions.
I don't know about your insurance covering such a thing or not. What I do know is that most insurances will require a medical order for such things like hospital beds, mobile scooters, oxygen. I also know that many insurances do not cover such things like toilet risers, bath seats or bathroom bars even with a medical order.
Also, there is a CP forum on DS that is far more active than this one. You don't have to be a sufferer of CP to belong there... You can also be a care provider or family member of someone...you need support too.
Has your daughter had an MRI recently? Has there been any surgeries or follow ups? Is she on a chronic pain management program? No one should have to live in uncontrolled pain regardless of their age. It is often difficult for younger people to get doctors to take them seriously when they discuss chronic pain.
I strongly recommen a new MRI if she has not had one within the last 6 months. I also recommend that she obtain some type of pain management. The bed sounds promising, I hope that she is able to attain one soon. Another thing that works for many of us is sleeping in a recliner chair. A big wide laz y boy is very comfortable and much more affordable if you can't attain a bed.
HUGS to you and your daughter. I hope that things are able to get worked out quickly.
