Back Pain Support Group
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek medical care. In fact, about 3 in 4 adults will experience back pain during their lifetime! The term back pain includes pain affecting the neck, midback and low back. Acute back pain may begin suddenly with intense pain but typically lasts fewer than three months. Usually, chronic back pain is persistent, steady, and...
You may need to strengthen stabilizing muscles and stretch muscles that have become tight from running, such as hamstrings and hip flexors. Runners are usually very inflexible.
I like chiropractors but I made the most progress from physical therapy. Then again, I got physical therapy from a work related injury so I didn't pay for it. The exercises and deep tissue massage seemed to help the most in the long run.
Anyway, I hope you feel better soon.
-Stand straight with your back against a wall.
-Place both heels against the wall.
-Place the back of your head against the wall.
-Then, use one hand to feel the gap between the wall and your lower back.
-Place the other hand over your lower tummy.
-Now, gently try to flatten your spine along the wall so that the gap at your lower back gets smaller and smaller. You may have to remove your hand from your lover back to completely close this gap.
-You can press your lower tummy a bit with your other hand to help flatten the lower spine along the wall.
-Meanwhile, also try to flatten your entire spine to the wall, but focus gently on minimizing the gap at the lower back.
-You only need to do this exercise for about a minute.
-For me it worked when I did this exercise once or twice per day, or whenever my back started bothering me for any reason, such as after long periods of sitting or driving.
Over the years I have recommended this stretch to many friends and colleagues who have had problems similar to the ones you describe, and I would say that this simple stretch seems to be effective most of the time for lower back muscle spasm.
I hope this helps!!!
I have to agree with you about Absorbine Jr working very well for my lower back pain relief. I have tried other pain patches for back and nothing works like this product. I use the glue stick pain relieving liquid for the curves in my back and the hard grooves to get to like right in my arm pit and under my shoulder blade. After I apply a little bit of it and rub it in, I put the back patch for pain over the concentrated low back and let it stay on my body for hours. I also use their arthritis creams to provide arthritis pain relief in my hands. I try to not get banged up as much, but its hard when you have kids and there are at the age of 7 and 8 and what to climb, jump, kick, punch, and just play like kids too. I guess I'm a big kid too. Anyways, this stuff helps to be an awesome dad, but not have to be in pain for the rest of the day... Absorbine Jr really works and it is my go to analgesic for topical pain relief.
