I had an epidural injection on Monday. First, I have no idea what steroid they used. I didn't think to ask. Long story short, I went in for a consultation, work comp approved the treatment. Then they had an appointment set up for me which was cool because I had questions about the steroids and such since I am allergic to 47 foods and 13 medications and soaps and cleaners, etc. But work comp cancelled the appointment saying it was "unnecessary". So I didn't get to really discuss my concerns.

Awhile back, years ago, I had a steroid cream for the eczema on my feet. I used 2 doses and then the skin peeled off my feet. That was one thing I wanted to mention to him but didn't get the chance.

Monday morning, I go in and he asked if I had any questions. I had just drove 90 miles in white out conditions, I hurt so bad I wanted to cry, I was hungry, I hadn't slept more than 2-4 hours a day since June (except a day or two here and there) and frankly, I was just flat miserable. I didn't remember to ask anything b/c I just wanted to keel over and die from the pain.

The injection was HORRIBLE! I was shaking and sobbing from the excruciating pain. I would rather give birth to an elephant through my nose that do that again. My blood pressure spiked to 160/113 and I was screaming in pain at times. Afterwards, the doctor said that is very unusual. He doesn't usually have people in that kind of pain. I was like "It's okay. You did fine. I'm just hoping this works." He gave me a prescription for hydrocodone 7.5 with motrin (I can't do tylenol) and really, I was okay after I had juice and my leg started working again.

The rest of the day I could barely walk, I had to have help dressing, standing up and sometimes making it across a room. I hurt so bad I projectile vomited that night. I took my hydrocodone every 4 hours religiously so I chalked it up to that.

Tuesday, I was still hurting really bad and on hydrocodone every 4-6 hours. I still needed help dressing all the time and getting up about half the time. Later that night, I felt like my legs from my hips down were on FIRE! I swear it felt like someone poured acid on my crotch and legs. It burned so bad I cried. It went away. My legs got numb and tingly and like noodles. I ended up just going to bed.

Yesterday, the burning came back intermittently. I still needed help dressing and sometimes getting up. It was basically like Tuesday but with burning. I had urinary incontinence too. Didn't even know I peed. How embarrassing. Thank goodness I was wearing depends! I have been wearing them because I have occasional bowel incontinence since July. Yes, I told each doctor. No one is doing anything.

Today, I am about in agony. My muscles HURT. They are spasming and getting really stiff, like knocks, for a few minutes then releasing. My legs are weak and keep trying to give out on me. I hurt to walk and have to pull myself upstairs. But the worse part is the INTENSE burning, like acid, across my lower back. Yea, the muscles burn like I did exercise, but my skin is on fire! It hurts! and I am having intermittent burning down my legs too.

This is a little personal, but I need to add it. My entire groin burns and feels like there are bugs crawling all over me. My legs have these waves of tingly, fuzzy feeling going down them. OMG! The burning! My face is flushed and hot but I am cold.

Please tell me this is normal. Or should I call or something. How do I make it STOP!?
