Cold = more pain

Does anyone else have a problem when they are cold for a long period of time, it makes the pain worse? I keep having worse pain after sitting in an area at work that is freezing. I'm sure its due to my muscles all tightening up becasue of being cold. But I was wondering if anyone else has this problem?

Temperature changes and changes in barometric pressure absolutely affects our back pains. I can tell you when a thunder storm is coming about 6 hours before because my back "tells me". I live in Florida so our winter's are not too bad, but when the temps go down I also get more pain.
So yes, temperature changes definetely affects back pain.

You're absolutely right. When you're muscles tighten up like that when you're cold, it's bound to cause the pain levels to go up. I hate air conditioning, but here in Michigan it can get HOT. We get in the 90's during the summer, and my daughter turns the air on, and I freeze to death! I either have to put layers of clothing on, or go to a warmer part of the house. I'm disabled, so I don't have to worry about that problem at work.

I feel for you. It must be miserable for you. I'd take more clothing to work with me. Who cares if you look "different?" Pain is the name of the game!!! You've got to keep those pain levels down! God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee

Yes that's true especially if you have poor circulation. The capillaries will close down to conserve heat so your blood won't travel as much or as far. The muscles and nerves will be more starved of oxygen and then when that happens tingling, numbness, spasms and PAIN happen. That's why ice packs to my back pain were agony I found it out later!
