The pressure is off (disks) when bending over...I was thinking along those lines... I am with you- there- Tipper...it would be nice if I could walk that way...LOL!
@ janos - No you are NOT weird - I look at it as though you are doing what ever YOU need to do - for YOU>>> Good going! I admire that!
Then when you stand up you experience pain because the nerves have no room to slip back where they should go when you're standing - due to compression from herniation, degeneration, stenosis, etc.
When I walk I have found some relief by trying to stretch the nerves back where they are supposed to go. I squat down and bend my knees forward until they touch the ground, keeping my spine straight up and down. (I'm sure I look comical to the casual observer!)
It seems to pull the nerves back into place. I reserve doing this until 1. I am where no one can see me 2. the pain is too bad to worry about who sees me! (LOL)!
It helps some days, especially on the bad ones.
