I have lots of crunching and crackling in my neck, due to arthritis and lots of bone spurs and bone on bone due to disc degeneration. Started in my late teens, I'm 55 now and losing the range of motion in a lot of my joints, partially due to tight muscles and tendons, but also due to arthritis.
I can't deal with "deep" massages, too painful, doesn't help me at all. I end up bruised feeling and the muscles even feel swollen.
