You really need to build up your core muscles and then learn proper weight lifting. I attended a 30 day out-patient pain recovery clinic and several of my classmates had to be able to lift a certain amount of weight to be able to return to work. Not a brace in site. Each person just had to learn how to properly lift weights. It is not easy, and takes time, which I understand you do not have. You may need to look for outside help caring for your father.
I used to do a lot of heavy lifting and know the proper techniques.I used a belt 20 years ago and it was a great help.I'm not seeking to debate the merits of using a belt,I'm looking for advice from someone who is familiar with them and can help me sort through the myriad of choices available nowadays.
