I have been having severe pain in my shoulder and back for about 3 weeks. Last Wed. my twin brother and I moved a freezer down to the basement of my church. I had a Chiropractor appointment later that day and I went to him as scheduled. He worked on my neck and arm and I noticed a popping and cracking as well as a "catch" when he tried to lift my arm. I just thought it was from getting old. lol. It kept bothering me so, I scheduled Doctor's appointment for today. He checked my arm and sent me for a CAT Scan. He just called me my results. I have a broken shoulder!!!!!!!! He is calling an Orthopedic Surgeon first thing tomorrow morning for me. We'll see where we go from there. Bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!

You mean to tell me, that the Chiro did not do an X-Ray on you before starting to work on your shoulder!!!!?????
That is so WRONG in sooooooo many ways! When I used to trust Chiro's (not anymore, long story), the one that I had, always, always, always!! Made an x-ray of the area before starting to manipulate, just in case!
It was his duty as a Doctor, not to cause anymore harm. I think that this Chiro screw up with you!

I went to a chiropracter and he broke my L-5, by doing a twist move, I would not suggest anyone to go to one. I went through eight years of hell, before I finally found a Doctor that knew what he was doing. Check out your Doctor's at the better business bureau, it is worth the time so that you know that you are getting a good doctor, and not just someone that wants to make money off of you.

Hang in there, I know how much pain that you are in, maybe you should get your primary Doctor to send you too a neurologist. They can really help you and please stay away from the chrioprator, I do not feel like they are real Doctor's, they only have two years of college, I have more education then them. So, make sure that you are determind to fine the best doctor, If you live near Kentucy or Tennessee, I can refer you to a really awesome Doctor, that I call an Artist, because he really takes pride in his work. If I had not had the car wreck two weeks after the surgery, I know that I would be a lot better. But life happens, Good Luck and God bless, please keep me informed of what is going on. I will do my best to encourage you to seek out the right Doctor.

i agree there are some really bad chiros but i happen to have one of the best. some of us are good at covering up our pain so he doesn't always take new X-rays for every extra pain i take in to him (Oldbiker i think you fall into that group), my body is always full of extra pains i ignore a lot of them, he is good to send me on to a pain management specialist when the adjustments weren't good enough.
i went to one ortho doc who told me that discs in the thoracic area never cause pain. you would be surprised how many nurses and doctors whose head snaps up when i tell them that one! they give me this look of utter disbelief as if to say and this doc is practicing medicine.
i guess the major key here is to check out all doctors no matter which field they are in. and if you don't like the one you got get another one.
Oldbiker i hope you can still type without your arm until it heals! i would miss talking to you!!! you will be in my prayers friend!
